He did it again!

How will I ever lose those extra pounds if he keeps cooking like this??? It's bad enough to let myself go when we go out to restaurants but I live with a cook! This is one of my favorite dishes, mushroom risotto.

Oh La Madonna!!!

When I first came to Milan back in the late 80's, I kept hearing the Italians say "oooh la Madonna" . I didn't get why they kept talking about Madonna. Then I learned that it's their way of saying, "oh my gosh".

Perfect winter lunch

Ribollita, meaning recooked. Another "poor man's dish" that I love. A thick white bean, black cabbage, chicory, and vegetable soup over dried bread cubes. It gets better each time you recook it. My guy's been preparing this since yesterday.

Back in Milan

Busy day, got back from Florence around 8 pm and we raced off to this art show. Lots of peeps, nice music, and yum cheese.

Tuscany !

Had to go back to Valdarno near Florence for work. I'm always happy when we return to this little husband/wife restaurant on a hill for lunch.

I must say, this looks boring for a Tuscan meal, but I SWEAR this is THE best roast chicken in the world!! I don't know WHAT she does to it! Lots of legumes in Tuscany and that's homemade pasta in the back
